Delaney Ann

I am now a mommy of TWO! Well a 2 year old and 2 children, so it's a double 2.

Delaney Ann Coughlin made her appearance on September 12th, 2010 at 2:58am weighing 7 pounds and at 19 inches long. I'll start the birth story by saying she came at the perfect time. September 11th was my last day of work, not because I had the baby, but because it was my last scheduled day. I worked in the morning, but left early because Mike's best friend from highschool was getting married. I left Silver Springs around 12:00pm and went to a wedding and reception in Reno. At the reception everyone seemed very concerned when I mentioned I was having contrations about every 10 minutes. They informed me that one of the other guests was a nurse. LOL! I felt absoultey fine and knew I was no where near delivery. We left Reno around 5:00pm and headed...not home...but to Fallon for the adult session of Stake Conference. By the time we got to Fallon my contractions were not strong and they were random and were starting to fade away. We left Fallon some time around 9:30pm and got home sometime around 10:30ish. We were both (needless to say) exhausted. By 11:00pm we were both in bed and quickly asleep...but it was very short lived. Shortly after I drifted off to sleep, I awoke... mmmhmmm... my water broke. I tapped Mike on his shoulder to wake him "Honey... my water broke....but I'm not having any contractions... what should I do?" His reply, "What do you want to do?" I called Mom and she said go to the hospital. I threw a couple things in a bag...because no I did not have a hospital bag packed. Even though my Dr. said it could be any day... I was still 2 weeks away from my due date... and well... it just really didn't sink in I guess. We got to the hosptial around midnight and my parents meet us there to pick up Evelyn. They checked me and I was still where I was a week ago... 5 cm dialated and about 80% effaced. They got me to my room and my parents stayed and talked for a little... the nurses and everyone thought I had a ways to go... even I did... my contractions didn't feel bad and I was still laughing and talking through them (even though they were about every 3 minutes). Well around 1:30am everyone left, Mike laid down on the couch, and I turned on the T.V. thinking it would be a while. Around 2:45am I woke up Mike and called in a nurse because I had to pee REALLY REALLY bad :) {Stop reading now if you don't want any birth details, don't worry nothing too graffic} Mike helped me into the bathroom and as soon as my bladder was empty I had the strongest erge ever to push. Hmmm... well I kinda got scared because I couldn't fight my body telling me to push, yet I didn't want to have my baby in the toilet...I couldn't move and I started making some very loud grunting noises. The nurses heard me and rushed in. They got me to the bed and checked me. The nurse said to call the doctor I was ready to go! (2:52am) The nurse was so nice :) she said " I'm not suppose to tell you this, but if you need to push go ahead and push even though the doctor isn't here, that's why there are two nurses." I was able to breath through about 4 pushing contractions, the nurses said I had great control and seemed suprised. The doctor walked in just as another contration started and I couldn't breath through another one. He had just enough time to put his gloves on and catch Delaney's head. One more push and she arrived in this big wide world. 4 hours of labor and 3 pushes... It was the quickest and easiest labor and delivery I could have imagined. Delaney was born with an amazing amount of thick long dark hair. She is just as beautiful as her sister was, but I don't think they will look alike. Delaney is now a month old and she is doing very well. Evelyn is the best big sister in the world! She loves giving her sister hugs and kisses and taking care of her. When she first meet her in the hospital she loved holding her in her lap and didn't want to share. I love my girls sooo much!

Father's Day

For Father's Day this year we tried to make it all about the little stuff. For breakfast before church I made cinnamon rolls... Mike ate 4 out of 5. Then after church it was a little relaxing before Mike's dad and grandma came over for a BBQ. Mike grilled some excellent steaks and corn on the cob and we enjoyed Grandma's Potato salad and baked beans. Yum Yum! Daddy and Grandpa both enjoyed Evelyn's gifts (saturday Evelyn and I painted and did handprints that I put in magnetic fridge photo pocket things that I found). Then after Grandma and Mike's Dad left, Evelyn and I made Monkey Bread, Daddy's favorite dessert!

Here is Evelyn helping mommy make the Monkey Bread!
She is surpisingly a very good helper, except she kept drying to eat the raw dough :)
Her favorite part was shaking the pieces of dough in the cinnamon sugar.
After the monkey bread, Evelyn went straight to daddy to cuddle while he relaxed and played video games.
Such serious faces!

Mike said he enjoyed his Father's day... and I did too!
Even when her face is a mess, she's still the cutest kid I've ever seen!

Time for an Update! (Easter)

Okay it has been way too long since I posted anything on my blog! Now it's time to play catch up! First of all I wanted to post Easter pictures on here... yes Easter... that was months ago, but these pictures are just too darn cute!
This is the Easter Egg hunt at our church. She really had a blast!

Look at those super cute pig-tails!!!

She was very good at making sure they went in the bucket.
I was actually very impressed with her egg hunting skills.

Look at all those eggs!

Always sticking her tongue out... silly girl!
She loved Easter egg hunting!
Of course there were activities for the big kids too! Mike enjoyed those...
Potato sack race
It always ends in some casualties... But Mike was the champ!
Egg toss...

The kids got bored watching the big kids... uninterested in each other, but were enjoying there candy.
So the kids got involved in the 3 legged race...
I'm pretty sure they were cheating.
Aren't these kids adorable!

Evelyn, Mommy, and the bitty baby bump. It was bright outside!

More of the Belly

Well I had a doctors appointment on the 5th of this month. I got there at 10am when my appointment was scheduled and I waited in the waiting room until just after 10:30am. Finally they called me in the the doctors room and told me to strip down and cover with the large papertowel thingie. I waited like that until 11:00am when the doctor fianlly showed up. My doctor dosn't fool around and went straight to do the vaginal ultrasound. First thing she says is "Wow! That's a big baby!" Well apparently when I called in for the appointment they had put the wrong estimated due date in the computer and I was farther along then they thought. The doctor then decided she could get a better look with the regular ultrasound. Thank goodness! She took a few measurments and said my estimated due date of September 26th was good. Mike and I got to see the baby wiggling around, but unfortuantly I didn't really get a good look. This was all done in about 2 minutes. She asked if I had any questions and then she was gone. Soooo... I guess my appointment was really more of a 'confirmation of pregnanacy' appointment. Anyway, my 'official' ultrasound is scheduled for May 5th and we will be able to find out the gender and get some pictures. Until then enjoy these Prego pictures of me at 16 weeks :)

Little Baby Bump

Okay, It's finally time to put these up! BELLY PICS! I'm 12 weeks and 3 days and I'm defenitly showing alot sooner this time. It's just a little baby bump, but it's there. Second trimester will be here soon and I know I will be feeling like a million bucks!

Weather Warming up!

Ahhh... I love when the weather warms up. Evelyn does too! This last weekend Mike built a very nice chicken coop for our new little chicks... spring chicks I'm so excited :) Evelyn helps feed them and calls them 'peep peep' but she dosen't like when the really friendly ones try to peck her shoes.

Evelyn also likes to feed the fish in my pond. My dad built the waterfall and it's a nice realaxing place to sit in the summer. In a couple weeks I will be getting some plants and flowers to plant around the pond and it will be my little oasis. After all the chores are done Evelyn likes to play on the trampoline, she always says "mama up" to get me to join her :) She's jumps around saying 'bounce bounce'!Electric Hair! Evelyn loves when the weather warms up and she can play outside. I can't wait for summer to be able to get her little pool and water toys out! I know she can't wait either!

Sonic Speed Life

Wow time can fly so fast sometimes! My work asked me to come back early this year, so I am now working part time at the State Park again. It's a good thing because now I can get my benifeits a bit earlier. I am 12 weeks pregnant now... morning sickness is starting to lessen. I'm very pleased to say that I have not prayed to the porcelain god once this entire pregnancy. I think that has to do with the many things I learned when I was pregnant with Evelyn. My energy is slowly returning and my face is not breaking out anymore! Yeah here I come second trimester! My first doctors appointment is scheduled for April 5th and I'm very excited. Mike and I got our midterm grades and I have an A+ in Physcology and an A in English; Mike does too, but mine are higher =P. I'm very proud of my self :) Everything seems to be going along at sonic speed, but we are all doing great. I'm going to try to post some more of our recent and past ventures on here. We took family pictures last week and I will be posting them soon as well!

What did I get myself into?

I've been horrible at updating my blog, but I've been very busy.

Evelyn is nearing 16 months and is doing pretty good keeping me on my toes. It's amazing to watch her learn new things everyday. How wrong they were about terrible twos... oh it starts much sooner then that! I swear she's never seen another child throw a temper tantrum, but can perform one perfectly. Hitting and headbutting is an issue we are currently working on. But my goodness can that girls smile and bright blue eyes melt your heart. She's getting better at communicating, she is even beggining to put words together. Hopfully less frustration should mean less temper. For the most part she is a very happy girl who is very quick to please her Mommy and Daddy.

Mike and I are taking 2 classes at WNC this semester... after almost 3 years with no school, going back is a bit of a shock. But we have some good teachers and it's been fun taking the classess together. Staying up late 2 nights a week does take it's toll though, especially since it's a 45 minute drive home...after we pick up Evelyn. We know in the end it will be well worth it.

Now that I'm nearing 8 weeks into my pregnancy, I'm starting to wonder what I got myself into. Morning sickness and fatigue are alot worse this time. I'm wondering if I'll be able to handle more then one kid! Right now I'm not working, so it should be easier for me right? But I do have a zoo at my house currently... 4 dogs, 9 adult rabbits and 15 babies, 4 rats, a pond full of fish, and now 9 chicks. Plus I have a husband and a child. Everything outside is muddy, which means I have to sweep and mop almost daily and I've steam cleaned my carpet too many times to count in the last couple months. I'm defenitly kept busy! But on top of all that I start work again in April full time. Hopfully by then my morning sickness and fatigue will be gone. Let's hope I can learn to be super woman by then... House cleaner, Student, Employee, Zoo keeper, Gardner, Mother, Wife, and all the while pregnant.
