I am now a mommy of TWO! Well a 2 year old and 2 children, so it's a double 2.
Delaney Ann Coughlin made her appearance on September 12th, 2010 at 2:58am weighing 7 pounds and at 19 inches long. I'll start the birth story by saying she came at the perfect time. September 11th was my last day of work, not because I had the baby, but because it was my last scheduled day. I worked in the morning, but left early because Mike's best friend from highschool was getting married. I left Silver Springs around 12:00pm and went to a wedding and reception in Reno. At the reception everyone seemed very concerned when I mentioned I was having contrations about every 10 minutes. They informed me that one of the other guests was a nurse. LOL! I felt absoultey fine and knew I was no where near delivery. We left Reno around 5:00pm and headed...not home...but to Fallon for the adult session of Stake Conference. By the time we got to Fallon my contractions were not strong and they were random and were starting to fade away. We left Fallon some time around 9:30pm and got home sometime around 10:30ish. We were both (needless to say) exhausted. By 11:00pm we were both in bed and quickly asleep...but it was very short lived. Shortly after I drifted off to sleep, I awoke... mmmhmmm... my water broke. I tapped Mike on his shoulder to wake him "Honey... my water broke....but I'm not having any contractions... what should I do?" His reply, "What do you want to do?" I called Mom and she said go to the hospital. I threw a couple things in a bag...because no I did not have a hospital bag packed. Even though my Dr. said it could be any day... I was still 2 weeks away from my due date... and well... it just really didn't sink in I guess. We got to the hosptial around midnight and my parents meet us there to pick up Evelyn. They checked me and I was still where I was a week ago... 5 cm dialated and about 80% effaced. They got me to my room and my parents stayed and talked for a little... the nurses and everyone thought I had a ways to go... even I did... my contractions didn't feel bad and I was still laughing and talking through them (even though they were about every 3 minutes). Well around 1:30am everyone left, Mike laid down on the couch, and I turned on the T.V. thinking it would be a while. Around 2:45am I woke up Mike and called in a nurse because I had to pee REALLY REALLY bad :) {Stop reading now if you don't want any birth details, don't worry nothing too graffic} Mike helped me into the bathroom and as soon as my bladder was empty I had the strongest erge ever to push. Hmmm... well I kinda got scared because I couldn't fight my body telling me to push, yet I didn't want to have my baby in the toilet...I couldn't move and I started making some very loud grunting noises. The nurses heard me and rushed in. They got me to the bed and checked me. The nurse said to call the doctor I was ready to go! (2:52am) The nurse was so nice :) she said " I'm not suppose to tell you this, but if you need to push go ahead and push even though the doctor isn't here, that's why there are two nurses." I was able to breath through about 4 pushing contractions, the nurses said I had great control and seemed suprised. The doctor walked in just as another contration started and I couldn't breath through another one. He had just enough time to put his gloves on and catch Delaney's head. One more push and she arrived in this big wide world. 4 hours of labor and 3 pushes... It was the quickest and easiest labor and delivery I could have imagined. Delaney was born with an amazing amount of thick long dark hair. She is just as beautiful as her sister was, but I don't think they will look alike. Delaney is now a month old and she is doing very well. Evelyn is the best big sister in the world! She loves giving her sister hugs and kisses and taking care of her. When she first meet her in the hospital she loved holding her in her lap and didn't want to share. I love my girls sooo much!

Congratulations!! That is an amazing story! Here's hoping all your births are as easy:)
